Josh Cruddas is a film composer based in Toronto and Nova Scotia. Thanks to an ever-shrinking world, he has been able to compose music for dozens of projects originating in LA, New York, Vancouver, and in his hometown of Halifax.
Josh's latest project, Dream Raider, for HBO MAX, is airing now on HBO Asia and HBO Max. His latest feature film score, 10000 Miles, for SONY, was named the best score by a Canadian under the age of 35 by SOCAN in 2017.

His first feature film as a composer, Battle For Skyark, was produced in Los Angeles in 2013. Josh was able to visit the set of this exciting project before writing over 80 minutes of original music. The film premiered as part of 2014's American Film Market and was picked up for domestic distribution by Lionsgate (The Hunger Games) for release domestically in 2016, alongside an already-released soundtrack album.
SOCAN also named this soundtrack as one of the top 3 written by a Canadian under the age of 35 in 2014, and it was nominated alongside Mission Impossible 5 and Kingsman: The Secret Service as ReelMusic's best Action/Adventure score of 2015. Feedback from the soundtrack have been universally positive, with music and film reviewers raving that the score is "lyrical, dramatic, emotional, gorgeous, romantic, fantastic...big, bold and beautiful."
Josh's upcoming projects include various short films screened at Galas at his hometown Atlantic Film Festival and dozens of others worldwide, and two upcoming feature films: Netflix's sci-fi action-adventure Taking Earth and the films Cyber Heist (starring Aaron Kwok for EDKO Films) and the sci-fi epic Killing Angel.
Josh’s influences include Michael Giacchino, Hans Zimmer, Thomas Newman and fellow Canadian composer Laurent Eyquem. He loves everything about music - writing, listening and experiencing it. His goal as a screen composer is to share that familiar joy and to inspire new thoughts and ideas in the people witnessing his work.
